Kalaveras is a vibrant Mexican restaurant chain that has been delighting patrons with its unique blend of traditional Latin American cuisine and modern twists since its inception in 2016. Founded by brothers Jose and Francisco Brito in Bellflower, California, the establishment quickly gained popularity for its colorful ambiance inspired by the Day of the Dead (El Día de los Muertos) tradition, complemented by live music and an extensive selection of tequila and mezcal.
As of 2024, Kalaveras has expanded to 25 locations across Southern California, including cities such as Los Angeles, Orange County, San Bernardino County, and San Diego. The Chula Vista location, situated at 340 3rd Avenue, opened its doors in early 2024, occupying the space formerly held by Fuddruckers.
This new venue offers the signature vibrant décor, live music, and a menu featuring modern Mexican dishes alongside nearly 100 varieties of tequila and mezcal.
Looking ahead, Kalaveras plans to continue its expansion throughout Southern California, with upcoming locations in cities such as Oxnard, Burbank, and Fullerton. The brand remains committed to providing an immersive dining experience that celebrates Latin American culture through its culinary offerings and lively atmosphere.
